What is SPC?

Stone Polymer Composite (SPC) is a mineral-filled polymer composite material engineered for packaging applications.

Here, SPC means Stone Polymer Composite — not Stone Plastic Composite flooring.

Mineral particles are incorporated into a polymer matrix to create a composite material suitable for extrusion into thin, hollow packaging board.

Why composite packaging

Built around how goods are actually handled.

Wet, cold, stacked and handled again and again — packaging has to keep up. SPC hollow board gives us a material we can engineer around those conditions.

  • Moisture-oriented design

For packaging exposed to humidity, condensation and wet handling.

  • Structural packaging

Board thickness, internal ribs and box structure can be developed around the load and the application.

  • Cold-chain development

Packaging can be evaluated for refrigerated or frozen logistics requirements.

  • Custom converting

Ventilation, drainage, partitions, pads and printing can be incorporated into box development.

  • Repeat-handling potential

Structures may be developed for applications that require repeated handling.

  • Transport durability

Box structures are developed with stacking and transport handling in mind.

Applications

Where SPC packaging fits.

We focus on a small number of demanding applications rather than every packaging market.

SPC vs corrugated cartons

A fair comparison for the same packaging job.

Material, structure and purchase conditions decide the result. We compare SPC hollow-board packaging against a specific corrugated carton for the same inner size, load and route — never against a straw man.

SPC hollow boardCorrugated carton
MaterialMineral-filled polymer composite, thin twin-wall hollow board.Paper-based corrugated board, fluted core between liners.
MoistureNot paper-based; sustained-moisture behaviour validated per application.Strength typically falls when wet unless coated or waxed.
Repeated handlingStructures can be developed for more than one trip.Usually single-trip unless specially treated.
Cost basisEvaluated per project against the target box and order size.Mature supply chain, transparent pricing by grade and volume.

Compared for the same effective inner size, single box load, stacking and transport route.

We do not claim SPC packaging replaces corrugated cartons everywhere, is stronger in all conditions or is always cheaper — the comparison must fit your exact job.

Cost evaluation

Packaging developed around your required function and target cost.

We evaluate cost against the same packaging job you have today — not against a generic box. Start from what your box must do, then compare on that basis.

  • Same effective inner size, load per box and stacking
  • Same environment: wet, chilled, frozen or ambient
  • Single-trip or repeated-use comparison, stated clearly
  • Your order size, delivery market and timing
  • Structure options that meet the function first, then cost
Request a cost evaluation

A concrete cost comparison needs your current box, its specification and your volume. We do not publish savings ratios without that basis.

Sample & engineering

Send us your existing packaging or specification.

Engineering review comes before prototyping. The more we know about your box and how it is handled, the better the first sample.

  • Existing box or drawing
  • Inner or outer dimensions
  • Product load per box
  • Temperature environment
  • Stacking and handling
  • Printing and accessories

Technology

From mineral and polymer to finished box.

A short preview of the technology behind SPC packaging. Process details stay at the level a buyer needs — not a recipe.

Technology overview

Stone Polymer Composite

A mineral-filled polymer composite material engineered for packaging.

What is SPC

Compounding

Mineral, polymer and functional additives are combined into a consistent composite compound.

Hollow board structure

Thin outer skins joined by internal ribs form a light, hollow twin-wall packaging sheet.

Printing

Basic colour printing on the board surface for identification and branding.

Converting

Cut, die-cut, punch, fold, weld and assemble — board becomes a box.

Production & converting

A manufacturing model built for prototype-to-production.

Our manufacturing model is being developed around SPC board production, printing and converting for commercial applications.

Small batches and trial orders come first. The process model below describes how board becomes finished packaging; it is a process model, not a claim of current capacity.

  2. Board extrusion

  4. Die cutting
  5. Punching
  6. Welding / assembly

Global supply

Export-oriented, specification-driven.

We work with customers across markets through one standardised intake, clear specifications and project-level coordination.

  • Global customer communication

Requirements, drawings and questions handled in one thread per project.

  • Standardised specification intake

Dimensions, load, environment, stacking and printing captured the same way every time.

  • Order coordination

Trial orders and batch supply coordinated as a project service.

  • Delivery terms per order

Packing, documentation and delivery terms are confirmed for each order.

Frequently asked questions

What does SPC mean at CSBX?
Stone Polymer Composite — a mineral-filled polymer composite material engineered for packaging.
Is SPC the same as SPC flooring?
No. CSBX uses SPC to describe Stone Polymer Composite packaging material. It is not Stone Plastic Composite flooring.
Can I submit an existing box for evaluation?
Yes. Customers can submit packaging requirements and drawings through the sample request process.
Can packaging structures be customised?
Packaging structures can be developed around dimensions, loading, handling and application requirements.
Do you offer global delivery?
Delivery terms are confirmed per project and order.
